Africa Events Limited
Africa Events Limited (AEL) is transforming Africa’s business, trade and
investment environment growing Africa’s economy, reducing poverty and increasing African incomes in all business sectors at a continental scale across all 54 countries in Africa.
AEL and our sister company, African Investments Limited, www.africaninvestments.co, operate three business platforms matching Africa’s business, trade and investment opportunities at scale:
AFSIC – Investing in Africa, perhaps Africa’s most important investor event – takes place annually in London. It is attended physically by many of Africa’s largest investors, most significant companies, and Africa’s leading Regional and National Trade and Investment Promotion Agencies.
AFSIC African Investments Dashboard, a fintech platform originating Africa’s largest and most attractive investment opportunities and matching them to regulated institutional investors with a mandate to invest in Africa.
Africa Business Opportunities Dashboard, a fintech platform matching business, trade, and investment opportunities across Africa covering all business products, sectors, countries in Africa and multiple business objectives. Customers joining the Africa Business Opportunities Dashboard join one of Africa’s most dynamic business communities. You can have a look at recent joiners on our LinkedIn Page. AEL’s Managing Director, Rupert McCammon, has a long track record in promoting investment, business, and trade opportunities in Africa. He was the past CEO of the Botswana Stock Exchange, at a time when it was the best performing stock exchange globally and built Botswana’s largest investment bank.
The need for increased investment into Africa is undoubted. Mckinsey (Source: Solving Africa’s infrastructure paradox) estimates that the shortfall in annual investment into Infrastructure is immense, with more than 50% of infrastructure projects remaining stuck in the feasibility stage. Only 20% of projects survive the feasibility and planning stage, and only half of those actually achieve financial close. AEL’s platforms are helping Africa identify and close more transactions at a continental scale – whether these are investment transactions with the largest corporate players on the continent, or business and trade transactions where participants are connected for the first time.
The success of AEL and our ability to perform a significant role in Africa’s business, trade and investment universe has been achieved through the in-house development of sophisticated digital processes and automated matching platforms. These platforms won the 2022 Global Salesforce Innovation Award for Financial Services. Salesforce is the 60th largest listed company in the world, and one of the leading tech companies globally.
Africa Events Limited works with major National Trade and Investment Promotion Agencies, and Governments to promote African business links. As an example in support of Prosper Africa goals of increasing two-way trade and investment between the United States and Africa, Africa Events Limited has been engaged to significantly increase US exports to Africa, as well as to assist building new supply chains from Africa to the US. Prosper Africa is a whole-of government initiative that leverages the services and resources of 17 US Government Agencies.

COMESA RIA
The history of COMESA began in December 1994 when it
was formed to replace the former Preferential Trade Area (PTA) which had existed from the earlier days of 1981. COMESA (as defined by its Treaty) was established ‘as an organisation of free independent sovereign states which have agreed to co-operate in developing their natural and human resources for the good of all their people’ and as such it has a wide-ranging series of objectives which necessarily include in its priorities the promotion of peace and security in the region. However, due to COMESA’s economic history and background its main focus is on the formation of a large economic and trading unit that is capable of overcoming some of the barriers that are faced by individual states.. COMESA’s current strategy can thus be summed up in the phrase ‘economic prosperity through regional integration’. With its 21 Member States, population of over 583 million a Gross Domestic Product of $805 billion, a global export/import trade in goods worth US$ 324 billion, COMESA forms a major market place for both internal and external trading. Geographically, COMESA almost two thirds of the African Continent with an area of 12 Million (sq km).

I2A3 has vast experience in project management and provides hands-on assistance, allowing project partners to concentrate on implementation of each project.
I2A3 aims also to coordinate the various activities by the different stakeholders to achieve synergies in the process. Our team has extensive experience in managing large and complex multi-disciplinary and cross-border projects as it has managed in the last 15 years more than 30 such projects with a total value of more than $150M (currently 6 ongoing projects are managed).
I2A3 operates the Israel4Africa platform (http://israel4africa.com/), a platform which presents Israeli entities with the immense opportunities that the African continent offers and presents African entities the huge experience and expertise that Israeli entities can contribute in various industries, including agriculture, medical device, water treatment, information and communication technology, and more. Israel excels in agriculture and water management technologies. Its arid climate has driven the development of efficient irrigation systems, drought-resistant crops, and advanced farming techniques. Sharing these practices can help African countries address food security and optimize water resources.

Lusaka Stock Exchange
The Lusaka Securities Exchange Plc (LuSE) is Zambia’s main securities
Exchange. We remain very central to the national economic aspirations of being a platform where ideas meet capital and anchor sustainable business growth and wealth creation. We offer our clients wide access to capital markets and liquidity across different asset classes. We operate a broad range of equity, fixed income, and exchange-traded funds/exchange-traded products. For 30 years now we pride in providing a platform that has connected buyers and sellers through financial products, supported by world-class technology and regulatory oversight.
The Lusaka Securities Exchange, whose formation was part of the government’s economic reform program, aims at developing the financial and capital markets in order to support and enhance private sector initiative. The Lusaka Securities Exchange was also expected to attract foreign portfolio investment through recognition of Zambia and the region as an emerging capital market with potentially high investment returns. Another important role of the Exchange was to facilitate the divestiture of Government ownership in parastatals and realization of the objectives of creating a broad and wide shareholding ownership by the citizenry via a fair and transparent process. The LuSE activities are regulated by its own regulations and by-laws, along with the rules, orders and guidance of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The LuSE has made great strides since its inception. It is now more than a platform for trading shares and bonds as demonstrated by some companies from across the spectrum of the industry that has used it to raise the public capital for expansion and in the process sustained and created new products and jobs.
