COMPANY PROFILE Kesema Ocean Economy and Enterprise Development (Pty) Ltd is the pioneer leader in exposing the untapped opportunities in the Blue Economy, assisting with the development of various ocean projects, through partnerships with stakeholders to create a sustainable ocean environment for young people in South Africa, Africa and the Global communities. Our focus is on all the economic activities associated with the Blue Economy including Coastal Sustainable Marine Tourism, Eco-tourism, Ethical Tourism, Maritime Transport and Logistics, Ship Building and Maintenance, Aquaculture and Fisheries, Ocean Energy, Marine Biotechnology, Maritime Security and Ocean Governance as well as ocean Health and sustainability and the Green Economy. The company have 7 team members 5 Full time workers and 2 Part time workers The founder and CEO Project Director Project Manager Company Secretary Admin and Financial Manager 2 Contract workers The company was established in 2018 but only start operation in 2023 after my PhD graduation. We started with partnership establisment and started pushing for projects in 2024. We just start generating revenue. The business has lots of potential for growth and generating revenue and including the Maritime High School projects. The Maritime Industry in South Africa is not very competitive as the term blue economy/ocean economy is still a fairly new concept which most countries especially in Africa are trying to navigate. The industry have lots of potential to contribute to the growth and GDP of most countries and also create jobs for many unemployed youth.
