In Nigeria, millions of smallholder farmers produce food that feeds the nation, yet they remain among the poorest people in the country. The core problem is a broken supply chain. Farmers sell their harvest to middlemen at very low prices because they have no direct access to buyers. Buyers, on the other hand, struggle to find verified suppliers of quality agricultural products. This disconnect means farmers earn far less than their produce is worth, buyers pay inflated prices, and a significant portion of food is wasted because it never reaches the right market at the right time. AgricAfric solves this by providing a digital marketplace where farmers list their products and buyers purchase directly from them. Our platform includes verified seller profiles, secure escrow payments so both sides are protected, location-based search to find nearby suppliers, and integrated logistics for delivery across Nigeria. What makes us different is that we're built specifically for the African agricultural context. We understand the challenges — poor internet connectivity, trust issues between strangers, and the need for simple interfaces that anyone can use. Our platform works on basic smartphones and is designed for people who may not be tech-savvy.
