PYRO is a start-up that seeks to ease the access to LPG domestic gas cylinders in Cameroon. The start-up makes use of three apps to achieve this, creating jobs for local bike drivers, making the obtention of a gas cylinder easy, secured and less stressful for households and enabling gas cylinder retailers to make sales and digitalize their paperwork and stations. For an average Cameroonian household, refilling a cooking gas cylinder is often a stressful, time-consuming, and uncertain ordeal. It typically involves trekking several meters with an empty cylinder, searching for a motorcycle taxi, traveling to an unknown gas station, and hoping that the required cylinder size is available. In many cases, families must visit three to five different stations before finding one with stock; wasting time, money, and energy. On the other side of the transaction, gas station attendants struggle with manual inventory management, often updating paper registers by hand, a process that is error-prone, time-consuming, and inefficient. Delivery drivers face the uncertainty of long journeys without guaranteed compensation, while families wait anxiously at home with no real-time information on the status of their order. PYRO was born to solve these interconnected problems. We are building a digital ecosystem that connects households, gas stations, and delivery drivers through three dedicated mobile applications, each tailored to the specific needs of its user. Our mission is to make LPG acquisition seamless, transparent, and efficient for all parties involved.
