Biography

The Head of Business Development& Marketing directs the business development activities of Afriland and drives the business for the company by playing a key role in the company’s bottom line. He is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and growth of profitable new business and to develop and maintain effective key client relationships. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Strategic Planning  Devise, develop, and deliver on the business development strategies across Afriland’s value chain (service offerings): Estate Management, Property Development, Project Management, Technical Consultancy and Facilities Management.  Introduce profitable lines of business across Afriland’s value chain.  Ensure the strategic objectives are executed by working with the Team Leads of all Departments to create products and services to be marketed.  Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational Business development and Marketing activities.  Align the business development strategy with that of Afriland’s 5-year strategic objectives.  Ensure alignment with the Group to maximize effectiveness through collaboration.  Ensure work is conducted within the context of the overall corporate governance standards of Afriland.  Grow and enhance Afriland’s presence in the market.  Competitive Positioning - Improvements in market share/positioning because of strategic initiatives.  Build relationships with (new and existing) clients, partners and vendors, with the aim to increase revenue and improve business efficiency.  Periodic report writing for Management and Board’s consideration with a view to showcasing the health status and outlook of the different business lines.  Utilize network of contacts among Government, real estate professionals, and service providers needed to make necessary interventions in providing services, resolving challenges, and making business in-roads.  Create and manage the yearly and quarterly budgets.  Manage, in conjunction with the Human Capital Team, the human resource needs of the business and ensure seamless recruitment, on-boarding, training and development and welfare of the Business Development Team. Income Generation  Responsible for income generation and awareness-raising for Afriland.  Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve Afriland’s growth  Help to maximize profit and build the turnover of organization  Increase Customer base/acquisition rate and generate monthly target incomes as advised by the CEO. Sales, Business Development & Marketing  Take ownership of the management of the sales and marketing functions of the business.  Provide market feedback to HH/Afriland leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas in the properties / real estate business.  Planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets and businesses.  Research into relationships that should be developed and manage effective partnerships with both existing and new key corporate partners.  Innovate and offer new ideas and approaches for developing Afriland, building relationships with other prospective business partners.  Review proposals, documents and packs to adequately prepare and advise the CEO of opportunities and meetings as applicable. Client Relationship Management  Stay appropriately networked and keep abreast of trends, news, events and deadlines, so that all possible, new or enhanced opportunities are exploited  To actively manage key relationships with existing and prospective clients  To work closely with partners, consultants and staff as needed on the delivery  Work in partnership with the Group Marketing and Corporate Communication team to develop and drive the marketing communication strategy and Afriland brand. People Management  Build & lead an effective team  Delegate tasks accordingly
