Earth Tread is a South African based company appointed by the South African Government to recycle end-of-life tyres. South Africa is the only government in the world with a circular economy and a rebate system to assist the Processor with recycling. With the current lack of processing capacity in South Africa and the historical stockpiled tyres reaching a capacity that cannot be recycled for the next 10 years and generating an additional 120 000 tons per annum of end-of-life tyres, South Africa’s waste tyre problem is at a collapse. Earth Tread has compiled a unique business plan using existing and state of the art technologies to process the 5000 tons per month of feedstock allocated by Government. Earth Tread will become the only processor in South Africa that will be able to recycle OTR, bus, truck and passenger tyres and will be generating its own power. Due to the current lack and supply of electricity from Eskom, this means Earth Tread will become totally independent from Eskom and will be able to process and manufacture without any interruption of power supply. With the current unemployment rate of 32% and Earth Treads ability to employ 300 people, it will bring some relief to the lack of unemployment in South Africa. With Earth Treads ability to manufacture various rubber products which is highly sought after in international markets, and with a guarantee of raw materials for the next 20 years, Earth Tread can manufacture in ZAR and sell in Dollars or Euros. This enables Earth Tread, with its current off-take agreements, to guarantee a local IRR of 43% and an international IRR of 110%. Earth Tread requires $23 million in debt/equity funding for the above-mentioned project and sincerely hope that you will be able to assist.
