Biography
Iyunola is a Partner at Dentons ACAS-Law. She has worked on a number of high-level transactions and has garnered over 14 years of experience in the Energy and Project finance practice area. She has acquired expertise in respect of negotiating and advising on mergers & acquisitions and restructuring, including complex multi-party transactions on regulatory, finance and investment matters. Within her practice area, she advises governments, project developers, stakeholders, financiers, domestic investors and cross-borders investors on diverse energy-related matters and projects as well as policies, transaction structuring, regulatory and corporate compliance matters within the Nigerian energy sector. She builds and develops client relationships and actively pursues opportunities to market the firm to new and potential clients. She mentors lawyers, globally and locally, in relation to their professional goals and development. She regularly shares her insight and experience on life issues to assist young lawyers navigate professional and personal development. As a part of her mentoring program, she presented a paper on “A-Z of a Shareholders’ Agreement” in October 2022. She was the moderator on a virtual event titled "The Future of Work Series” organised by the African Women in Energy Development Initiative in April 2020 and co-organiser of a virtual event titled “The Future of Law – Navigating the Waves of the Legal Industry” in August 2020. Publications she has co-authored include an article titled "Nigeria’s Untapped Treasures: Its Growth and Investment Potential”, published by Hogan Lovells in July 2020. She also presented a paper in September 2021 on “The Life of an OG: Wealth Succession Planning”. Her contributions to the Nigerian legal industry date as far back as 2012 when she contributed to a paper titled “IJV: Merits and Demerits - Overcoming the Demerits” organised by the Centre for Petroleum Information (CPI) Oil & Gas Forum 2012 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria and more recently on “Administration of marginal field under the PIA: Assessing the legal and commercial impact on farm-out arrangements” in March 2022 and “Nigeria commences Mini-Bid Round 2022” in January 2023.
