As Managing Director of SUPERASEN LIMITED, I serve as the chief executive and strategic leader of a diversified enterprise headquartered in Kampala, Uganda. My role is to provide vision, direction, and oversight across all eight divisions of the company, General Supplies, Construction, Cleaning & Facility Management, Information Technology, Import & Export, Agriculture, Real Estate, and Transport & Logistics. 1. Strategic Leadership & Vision Define and implement the company’s vision to become a leading diversified enterprise in East Africa, recognized for reliability, innovation, and sustainable solutions. Guide the mission to deliver high-quality products and services that exceed customer expectations while creating value for shareholders and contributing to Uganda’s economic development. Establish and reinforce the company’s core values integrity, reliability, professionalism, innovation, customer satisfaction, teamwork, accountability, and sustainability as the foundation of corporate culture. 2. Governance & Compliance Oversee the establishment of a robust governance framework, ensuring compliance with Uganda’s statutory requirements, international standards (IPSAS, IFRS), and donor regulations. Institute internal control systems across procurement, finance, and quality assurance to safeguard resources and enhance transparency. Direct risk management strategies to mitigate operational, financial, and market risks, ensuring resilience in competitive and dynamic environments. 3. Business Development & Market Expansion Spearhead the company’s short-term objectives, including brand establishment, securing contracts with government institutions, NGOs, and private sector clients, and building strategic supplier partnerships. Lead medium-term expansion, opening regional offices, investing in modern technology, and diversifying into agro-processing and real estate ventures. Position SUPERASEN LIMITED for long-term growth, targeting East African regional markets, industrial ventures, and multinational recognition. 4. Operational Oversight Direct operations across all divisions, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Supervise procurement and supply chain management, guaranteeing timely delivery and competitive pricing. Oversee construction and engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and timely execution. Manage facility services, IT solutions, and logistics operations to provide integrated, one-stop solutions for institutional and private clients. 5. Financial Stewardship Maintain oversight of the Country Operation Master Budget, ensuring adequate funding levels and identifying gaps for remedial action. Direct financial planning, cash flow management, and reporting to ensure sustainability and profitability. Ensure compliance with tax obligations, statutory returns, and donor reporting requirements. Coordinate audits and prepared documentation for both local and international financial reviews. 6. People Management & Capacity Building Line-manage a growing team of professionals across all divisions, focusing on recruitment, training, and retention. Promote staff well-being, performance management, and career development. Design and deliver training programs to build capacity in financial management, compliance, and customer service. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and innovation. 7. Partnership Development Act as the primary liaison with government institutions, NGOs, development partners, and private sector stakeholders. Negotiate and secure long-term contracts, ensuring predictable cash flows and sustainable growth. Build strategic alliances with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to enhance reliability and cost efficiency. 8. Marketing & Brand Positioning Direct the branding strategy, ensuring SUPERASEN LIMITED is recognized for professionalism and reliability. Oversee digital presence, corporate documentation, and promotional campaigns to enhance visibility. Implement customer acquisition and retention strategies, emphasizing competitive pricing, quality service, and loyalty incentives. 9. ERP & Data Analytics Champion the adoption of ERP systems (DRC Dynamics, Umoja/SAP, and Cloud BI modules) to streamline operations. Apply data analytics to monitor performance, generate insights, and support evidence-based decision-making. Ensure ERP super-user support was in place to maximize system efficiency. 10. Social Impact & Sustainability Integrate corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives into operations, focusing on community development, environmental sustainability, and youth/women empowerment. Promote eco-friendly practices in cleaning, construction, and logistics divisions. Create employment opportunities, contributing to inclusive economic growth and national development.
