Damilare ColeBiography
Founder & CEO of CREATRA, responsible for the company’s overall vision, strategy, product direction and execution. I lead market research and customer discovery, define the business model and go-to-market strategy, develop partnerships and fundraising opportunities, and oversee the development of CREATRA’s technology and creative ecosystem. My background spans photography, graphic design, printing, education and other creative services, giving me direct experience with the challenges faced by independent creatives in Africa. I am responsible for translating these experiences and our research into a scalable platform that helps creatives build sustainable careers, access opportunities, develop skills and connect with clients, mentors and other participants in the creative economy.
Company Overview
CREATRA is building digital infrastructure for Africa’s creative economy. We are developing a platform that connects creatives—including photographers, graphic designers, videographers, printers, makeup artists, hairstylists, tattoo artists and other creative professionals—with clients, mentors, learning opportunities and economic opportunities. The problem we are solving is the gap between creative talent and a sustainable creative career. Millions of young Africans possess valuable creative skills but lack reliable access to clients, professional networks, mentorship, funding, infrastructure and pathways to turn those skills into sustainable income. CREATRA brings these fragmented needs into one ecosystem: helping creatives discover opportunities, showcase and monetize their skills, connect directly with experienced mentors, learn, collaborate and grow their businesses. We are currently at the validated pre-MVP stage, conducting market research and customer interviews while preparing the first version of the platform. Our long-term vision is to build an African-born, globally connected creative-economy platform serving creatives across Africa and the African diaspora. Our business model is designed around multiple revenue streams, including marketplace transactions and premium services, while also exploring creator-focused digital revenue, partnerships and Web3-enabled opportunities.
