I, Ahmad Kabir Abdullahi is the Chief Promoter of Daura Leathers & Livestock Complex, a transformative agro-industrial initiative aimed at revitalizing the abandoned Daura Tannery Project into a modern integrated leather and livestock processing hub. My vision is to leverage the abundant livestock resources of Katsina State and Northern Nigeria to establish a sustainable industrial complex that promotes economic growth, job creation, value addition and export development. Through strategic partnerships with government institutions, private investors, development agencies, and international stakeholders, I'm leading efforts to develop a world-class facility capable of driving industrialization and enhancing Nigeria's position in the global leather and livestock value chain.
Company Overview
Daura Leathers & Livestock Complex is a proposed 10 hectares integrated industrial development located approximately 17 kilometers from Daura town along the Daura–Kazaure Road in Katsina State, Nigeria. The project seeks to redevelop the abandoned Daura Tannery into a state-of-the-art leather and livestock complex that combines livestock production, leather processing, manufacturing and supporting infrastructure within a single ecosystem. The Complex is designed to include: 1.) A modern leather tannery for processing hides and skins into finished leather. 2.) A livestock ranch for breeding, fattening and livestock management. 3.) Footwear and Leather products manufacturing facilities. 4.) Feed production and Integrated grazing areas. 5.) Raw material and Finished goods warehouses. 6.) Administrative headquarters and Training facilities. 7.) Staff quarters and Support infrastructure. 8.) Mosque, clinic and utility services. 9.) Internal road network and logistics facilities. Economic Impact The project is expected to: a.) Create substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities. b.) Revive and strengthen Nigeria's leather industry. c.) Promote local value addition and industrial development. d.) Increase non-oil export earnings through leather and livestock products. e.) Support youth empowerment and skills development. f.) Attract domestic and foreign investments. g.) Stimulate economic growth within Daura, Katsina State, Nigeria and the wider Sub-Saharan African region. Vision The long-term vision of Daura Leathers & Livestock Complex is to become a leading leather and livestock industrial hub in West Africa, serving as a model for integrated agro-industrial development while contributing significantly to Nigeria's economic diversification, industrial growth and sustainable development objectives. The project represents a unique opportunity to transform an abandoned industrial asset into a productive economic enterprise that creates jobs, generates wealth, promotes exports and supports sustainable livestock and leather industry development.
