Executive Summary
Mahali Africa Adventures provides authentic, tech-driven safari and hospitality experiences in Rwanda. We are pivoting from a traditional operator to a digital-first adventure brand. Digitalization: A proprietary booking & fleet management system (CRM + ERP) to automate reservations, payments, and driver allocation. Asset Finance: Acquiring a modern fleet of safari-ready Land Cruisers and high-end glamping equipment to double capacity while maintaining safety and luxury standards. We intend to raise up to $500k to finance our digitalization journey, purchase a 4*4 safari vehicle, and later finance construction of a luxury eco-lode to support our accommodation initiatives. 1. Founder/CEO -Dan RWIYAMIRIRA – Vision & Operations Background: 5+ years in East African tourism (formerly with Black Rhino Travel and Tours Ltd in Arusha Tanzania). Why invest: Built Mahali from scratch to a registered company in Rwanda. Well conversant with the East Africa tourism landscape. Role in raise: Leads asset deployment (Digitalization, New fleet, Equipment) and high-value client acquisition. 2. General Manager –Jolly KANSIIME– Hospitality & Logistics Background: Degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management. Role in raise: Ensures asset utilization (vehicles/lodges) exceeds 70% and digital tools actually improve the guest journey. 3. Jackson NGABONZIZA-Digital Lead – Technology & Data Background: Built booking systems for a safari companies as well as fintech companies in the financial sector. Why invest: We are raising for digitalization. This person already mapped our manual pain points (WhatsApp bookings, Excel reconciliation, manual inventory). Role in raise: Implements the tech stack; proves ROI via reduced admin costs and higher conversion. 4. Ismael YAMBABARIYE-Finance Manager– Capital & Compliance Background: Managed different asset finance facilities with various local companies. Why invest: Knows how to structure asset leases (vehicles, Equipment, etc) to match tourist seasonality. Has existing relationships with local banks for co-financing. Role in raise: Protects your capital. Ensures digitalization savings go directly to debt service and dividends. Mahali Africa Adventures has completed 2.5 years of operations. As a young player in Rwanda’s competitive tourism sector, revenue generation has fallen short of initial projections due to two specific gaps: zero digital booking infrastructure and no owned safari fleet. 100% of current bookings come through referrals and WhatsApp (unscalable). All game drives and transfers use rented 4x4s daily (180–250/day per vehicle). We cannot offer airport pickups, day tours, or post-trek extensions profitably leading to missed revenue. The initial $150k will finance the purchase of vehicles, enhance the company's digital presence, as well as supporting the company's working capital base. The company will break-even in the 14th month once the company becomes fully digitalized and with owned fleet. Rwanda’s tourism sector is not just recovering; it is shattering records. Record Revenues: In 2025, Rwanda generated $685 million in tourism revenue, a 6% increase year-on-year . Visitor Volume: Arrivals surged to 1.49 million visitors, driven by a 23% spike in international air arrivals . Economic Impact: The sector contributed $1.5 billion to the national economy (9.8% of GDP), employing nearly 400,000 people . We are raising capital to solve two specific bottlenecks: Track A: Digital Transformation (Sales & Marketing) The Problem: Currently, booking a custom gorilla trek or cultural tour in East Africa often requires lengthy email chains. The Solution: Investment in a Proprietary Booking Engine and CRM. Virtual Reality (VR) Tours: Allow international clients to walk through Nyungwe’s canopy or Akagera’s savannah before buying. Direct B2B Portals: Integrate with international travel agents (ITAs) for instant commission-based booking. Data Monetization: Leverage visitor data to offer personalized upsells (e.g., "You booked gorillas, here is a helicopter transfer"). Track B: Asset Finance (Inventory Expansion) The Problem: Rwanda’s tourism is shifting to "luxury and sustainability." Tourists want custom, high-end vehicles and eco-equipment. Relying on third-party rentals eats margins and reduces quality control. The Solution: Finance the acquisition of: Luxury 4x4 Fleet: Land Cruiser custom conversions for high-net-worth individuals. Luxury Van: For airport transfers and city tours.
