Executive Summary

An opportunity exists for my client to acquire a stake Maru Towers (TowerCo). They have 62 sites with mobile towers completed to date. io. The market opportunity in SA is enormous with approximately 7,000 additional towers needed to roll-out 5G. The vision of Maru is to construct a further 240 towers over the next 4 years, a further 250 towers in the subsequent 3 years, and to acquire a further 300 towers within the next 10 years. Solid and experienced management team with Telco experience. Two Master Lease Agreements signed with Vodacom and MTN) and with Rain and Telkom in the pipeline. The proposed funding required is R50m to acquire a majority stake of between 65%-70% in Maru Towers, the equity to underpin the initial debt requirements of R300m for the construction of new towers and the acquisition of existing towers (totaling 440 new and existing towers). The strategic objectives are to: Manage the business profitability to ensure sustainable shareholder value. Expand the business to selected African countries in the long-term. New revenue streams to be created (Power as a Service). Building a formidable black-owned tower company within the African continent.
