The Dormaa Poultry Feed Plant (Boafo Feeds), to be located in the Bono Region, is designed to solve Ghana’s biggest poultry challenge: the lack of reliable and affordable feed. Feed costs currently account for up to 70% of poultry production expenses, making local farmers uncompetitive against frozen imports. Dormaa already hosts 2.2 million layer birds consuming about 80,000 tons of feed annually, yet has no industrial-scale mill. Farmers pay premiums to transport feed from Accra, Tema, or Kumasi. By situating the mill at the heart of Ghana’s poultry belt, the project will reduce costs, stabilise supply, and improve feed quality. Required investment is GHS70,000,000 (USD5,640,921.50). Debt and Equity - 80% debt 20% equity. Exit strategy - interest income on debt. Capital gains and dividends on equity. ROI - 5years debt, 5 years equity. Dugbatey Hoese Teye — Civil, Construction & Project Manager Dugbatey brings over a decade of experience in civil works, construction, and project management. His expertise spans private and commercial developments, with a proven track record as lead consultant on multiple industrial factory projects in Ghana and across the West African region. He will oversee site development, construction, and facility delivery to ensure compliance with international standards. Samuel Van-Segbefia — Asset Management, Supply Chain & Procurement Lead Samuel has over 10 years of experience in asset management, supply chain optimisation, and procurement. He runs an asset management firm with high-profile clients including the UN, WFP, UNHRD, MODEC, and Tullow. He will lead procurement, supply chain strategy, and operational efficiency for the EbanShield facility, ensuring reliable sourcing and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment. Minerals Development Fund (MDF) — Strategic Partner The MDF is a statutory government fund that manages and disburses a portion of mineral royalties to support mining-affected communities, local development initiatives, and sectoral institutions. For this project, MDF serves as a non-executive strategic partner, providing advocacy, community support, and alignment with government development goals to ensure the facility’s sustainability and local acceptance. Not in operation. Ghana is currently the 4th highest protein consumer in Africa. Consuming about 200million birds annually. The Government of Ghana’s Akok Nketenkete (Nkoko Nkitinkiti) poultry revitalization policy is targeting a rapid expansion of the national flock by introducing an additional 8–10 million birds into the system. This large-scale intervention, backed by a GH¢1.5 billion programme, aims to reduce Ghana’s near-total dependence on imported poultry while boosting rural livelihoods. The increase in bird numbers will directly translate into heightened feed demand, with each layer consuming averagely 50-60 kg annually and broilers requiring 3–4 kg per cycle
