Biography
I look for gold residue stock from the local miners, then we use machines to measure the level of gold the residue has in a scale of 1-5 once we find the gold residue good we purchase it
Company Overview
The Technical Setup (Infrastructure) The company is responsible for the "heavy lifting" of the construction phase. Engineering & Design: They design the Vat Leaching or CIL (Carbon-In-Leach) system to ensure the chemicals flow correctly and don't leak into the ground. Equipment Provision: They bring in the specialized gear, including: Crushers/Ball Mills: To grind the "draft" (residue) even finer to release trapped gold. Leaching Tanks/Dams: Large, lined containers where the ore is mixed with water and chemicals. Carbon Columns: To "soak up" the dissolved gold from the liquid. Electrowinning Cells: To turn the liquid gold back into solid metal. 2. Operational Management (The Daily Work) Once the plant is built, they run the "science" of the mine. Chemical Management: They handle the procurement, storage, and safe application of Sodium Cyanide and Activated Carbon. Metallurgical Testing: They perform constant lab tests on the sand you buy from local miners to calculate exactly how much gold is inside and how many chemicals are needed to get it out. Gold Smelting: They are responsible for the "Final Pour"—melting the captured gold into doré bars (unrefined gold bars) ready for sale. 3. Compliance & Safety Since leaching involves chemicals, the company takes on the legal and environmental risks. NEMA & Mining Permits: They ensure the leaching dams are lined with thick plastic (HDPE liners) to prevent groundwater contamination, keeping you safe from government fines. Tailings Detoxification: After the gold is removed, the "leaching company" must treat the waste water to neutralize the cyanide before it is stored or disposed of. Security: They usually manage the high-level security for the "gold room" where the final product is kept. 4. The Business Model (The "Split") In a Joint Venture, the leaching company doesn't usually charge you a fee. Instead, their "role" is to take a share of the profit. The Investment: They pay for the machines and chemicals (CAPEX/OPEX). The Revenue: You both sell the gold. The Split: A common split in Migori for this kind of JV is 40/60 or 50/50, depending on who is paying for the daily labor and the cost of buying the tailings from the artisanal miners.
